Our Soldiers Are Not Lab Rats!
Help Us Defend the Military
From the Gay Agenda
A Briefing From TVC Executive Director Andrea Lafferty
March 2010
Dear TVC Supporter:
Recently, I attended a Senate panel hearing on President Obama’s plan to abolish the policy and a federal law that prevents gays from serving openly in the military.
The policy is called “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) and it was created by President Bill Clinton in 1993. The policy, however, is different than the law Congress passed under Clinton. The law actually forbids gays from serving in the military – but under Clinton’s DADT, it has never been effectively implemented.
The panel discussion held by liberal Senator Carl Levin (D-MI) was a dog and pony show for the gay agenda. The two speakers that day were Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen. Both of these men expressed support for abolishing the ban on gays serving openly in the military!
Gates serves at the pleasure of the President, and it is his job to accomplish what the President says. Therefore, according to Secretary Gates: “The question before us is not whether the military prepares to make this change, but how we best prepare for it.”
In other words, Gates must see this policy change as inevitable – but not if TVC has its say in this significant battle.
Section 654, Title 10 of a law passed in 1993 must be abolished for this to happen – and that’s what the gay contingent in Congress hope to undermine by passing H.R. 1283.
H.R. 1283 is being pushed by gay activists and their gay allies in Congress. The bill is misnamed the “Military Readiness Enhancement Act” – but it should be called the “Legalization of Sodomy on the Battlefield and Barracks Act” because that’s really what it is.
Incredibly, this bill will add “sexual orientation” as a protected minority within the military, and this will include “actual or perceived” heterosexuality, homosexuality or bisexuality.
The legislation leaves out “transgender” – which is a term that describes cross-dressers, gay drag queens, transsexuals and she-males (individuals who go through half of a sex change operation).
I suspect the omission of transgender is deliberate – because it might be a difficult sell to Congress to pass a law that permits open cross-dressers, drag queens or she-males to serve. A man with female breasts and male sex organs probably would cause a stir in the barracks and might also encounter disapproval from his barracks buddies.
House Hearing Held On March 3
Our men and women in uniform are too valuable to be subjected to a social science experiment. They’re not lab rats; they’re patriotic trained combat troops. TVC will do whatever it can to stop passage of H.R. 1283. We oppose Obama’s headlong rush to undermine our military so that he can pay off his political debt to the gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender activists who helped put him in office. Help us educate Members of Congress and the public on this serious threat to our military readiness with your gift of $50, $75, $100, $150. |
The House Armed Services Military Personnel Subcommittee held a second dog and pony show on repealing the 1993 law on March 3. Three Pentagon officials were questioned for more than two hours by Members of Congress.
Republican Representatives Joe Wilson (SC) and John Fleming (LA) were the only two members to ask serious questions about military readiness and whether the repeal of the 1993 ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’ was really necessary.
Rep. Wilson’s opening statement laid out the arguments against repeal of the 1993 law and Rep. Fleming was successful in getting panelists to admit that in 2009, only 428 homosexuals were actually released from the military as a result of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” Clinton policy. This is out of three million soldiers, marines, and sailors currently serving.
In any event, H.R. 1283 is being seriously considered in Congress, and the Pentagon is pushing ahead to “study” the consequences of overturning the ban on gays openly serving in the Armed Forces.
I am outraged that Obama, Gates and Mullen are pushing this effort to effectively undermine the military readiness of our Armed Forces for political correctness.
There is no “right” to serve in the military – and there are certainly legitimate reasons to oppose having gay men or lesbians in units.
How will men in a Marine platoon react to the knowledge that one of them is a gay who sexually lusts after other men? Men in the Armed Forces have little or no privacy and shower together and share foxholes together. The tensions that will be produced by forcing Marines to deal with someone who engages in sodomy will be unimaginable.
But, there’s much more. By forcing acceptance of gays, lesbians, bisexuals – and eventually transgenders into the military, every soldier will be judged by a zero tolerance program.
No soldier will be permitted to express disapproval of sodomy or other bizarre gay behaviors. If they do disapprove, they’ll be subjected to discipline and retraining.
Many of these good soldiers will be faced with two choices: shut up or resign.
I am convinced from my study of this issue that many good soldiers will simply choose to resign rather than be forced to accept homosexual conduct as something compatible with military service.
In addition, Chaplains who want to preach from the Word of God will be forced to skip over passages that condemn homosexual conduct. Preaching from the Bible will become a violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice if it involves homosexuality!
Good Chaplains will flee the services and the only ones left will be liberals who have no respect for God’s Word and who embrace the gay agenda.
This is subversive to our military and will drive out good men and women, leaving the military to homosexuals and their allies.
In short, the military will have been taken over by gay militants! Opposition to the gay agenda in the Armed Forces will be considered a crime – and good people will leave the services rather than submit to this immorality.
Will you join with is in fighting for our military? They can’t fight for themselves because they’re under the authority of President Obama as their Commander-in-Chief.
Their only hope is for civilians like us to fight for them.
They desperately need to know that they’re valued and that we will do everything we can do make certain that homosexual conduct doesn’t become the new protected minority group within the Armed Forces.
This battle can be won, but only if we are aggressive and don’t give up.
The gays don’t really care about the military. They just want to force their immoral behaviors on every institution in America – the military is one of the last bastions of sanity left in our culture.
The military is a traditional values institution and always has been. The men and women who serve in the Armed Forces are the most patriotic citizens in our nation. They value our Constitution and the Bill of Rights. And, they are willing to die for us to defend our freedoms.
To force them to accept homosexual conduct would be a subversive act against the bulwark of freedom.
We cannot permit this to happen.
When I was sitting in that hearing room listening to Senator Levin and other pompous liberals blather on about the importance of gays and lesbians serving openly in the military, I felt sick to my stomach. But, I was also filled with anger that some Members of Congress would be so willing to undermine our military in order to cater to a small minority of individuals who love to engage in bizarre sex acts.
We don’t win wars or uphold the morale of our military by surrendering to individuals who lust after same-sex partners.
The U.S. Military isn’t a social science experiment. Defending our nation is serious business – clearly one that President Obama appears not to take seriously.
I can foresee rampant violence in the military if macho men must share shower facilities, bunk beds in a submarine or fox holes with sex-crazed gay males.
Stand with us!
A gift of $50, $75, $100, $150 or more will help us educate Members of Congress and the public on this serious threat to our military readiness.
We cannot permit a one-term trainee President to destroy our Armed Forces and drive good people away from serving their country.
Let me hear from you today with the largest gift you can give.
And, please subscribe to our FREE weekly email to get updates on the DADT issue and other important threats to traditional values.
I look forward to hearing from you!
