December 11, 2009 – Attorney General Eric Holder and the Obama Justice Department have decided to try Islamic terrorists captured on the battlefield as common criminals in New York City – blocks from the remains of the World Trade Center.

The decision by the Obama Administration to give these terrorists the same constitutional rights as American citizens is an outrage and a gross miscarriage of true justice. These terrorists should not have access to our civilian court system. 

These are enemy combatants caught in battle and represent no country, but only their violence-based political/military system known as Islam.

They should be tried in a military court as enemies of America and sentenced for their terrorist activities. Those who await sentencing should remain at Guantanamo at the multi-million dollar facility designed to keep the most vicious terrorists on the planet from harming anyone else.

President Obama and Eric Holder are subverting our national security by holding show trials in New York City for these monsters. Obama and Holder are making a mockery of justice. They are bringing untold pain and anger to New Yorkers who will be forced to hear years of legal wrangling by terrorist lawyers who will put America on trial!

Over the weekend, hundreds of angry Americans gathered in New York City to express their outrage at what Obama and Holder are doing.

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) are drafting legislation to ban terror trials in civilian courts. Congress and the Senate must pass this legislation to send a strong message of disapproval to Obama and Holder over their terrible decision to give terrorists access to our civilian court system. This legislation has not yet been introduced.
