November 5, 2009 – TVC Chairman Rev. Louis P. Sheldon joined with dozens of conservative U.S. Representatives and at least 10,000 concerned citizens in front of the Capitol Building today to protest Nancy Pelosi’s proposed nationalization of our health care system.

“This rally was a warning shot to Nancy Pelosi and other socialists in Congress that Americans don’t want nationalized health care,” said TVC Chairman Rev. Louis P. Sheldon. “I was honored to be among so many patriotic Americans who are demanding an end to this effort to destroy the finest health care system in the world.”

Some of the speakers at the rally included actor Jon Voight, House Republican Leader John Boehner (OH), House Republican Whip Eric Cantor (VA), Louie Gohmert (TX) and dozens of other legislators who urged voters to stand fast against passage of PelosiCare – a monstrous 1,990-page bill that will cost an estimated $1.2 trillion.

Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) attended the rally, as well, and loaned his voice of support to his House colleagues who are fighting against PelosiCare. Minnesota Representative Michele Bachman was the organizer of the rally and spoke eloquently about our freedoms.   

At the end of the rally, Republicans tossed pages of Pelosi’s 1,990 bill into the crowd.  

Speaker of the House Pelosi is rushing a vote on this bill on Saturday just a week after she dropped the bill on her fellow Representatives.

PelosiCare is filled with tax increases, budget cuts for seniors, and the creation of 118 new federal bureaucracies to control every aspect of our health care system.

In addition, PelosiCare includes a provision that will benefit Planned Parenthood as a contractor of abortion services as part of the public option of the bill.
