Obama’s God-Talk Tour On The Road

September 25, 2008Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) is taking his Faith, Family and Values Tour on the road with his various “religious” surrogates to convince Christians that he is their man for the presidency. The road show begins next week. Two of Obama’s faith outreach lieutenants were in Washington, DC on September 19, to address the Religion Newswriters Association Conference. The briefing for religion writers was conducted by Josh DuBois, Obama’s National Director of Religious Affairs and Shaun Casey, a Wesley Theological Seminary professor. Pepperdine University Professor Doug Kmiec will be on the Obama faith tour.

The tour will hit Colorado, Indiana, North Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Florida, New Mexico, Virginia and Wisconsin.

The tour will emphasize the alleged strong Christian faith of Obama and his running mate, Sen. Joseph Biden (D-DE).

Obama has been counseled in the past on religious issues by Pastor Jim Wallis of Sojourners, one of the most leftwing groups in America. In addition, Mara Vanderslice with Common Good Strategies has been teaching Democrats how to confuse Christians over the abortion issue and how to use “God talk” in their efforts to sway Christian voters to support Obama or other liberal candidates.

Vanderslice interned with Wallis and was a member of the Earlham Socialist Alliance in college. She also runs the Matthew 25 Network, a political action committee that has endorsed Obama. Her network is now running ads on Christian radio stations to urge support for Obama.

“One has to wonder what kind of ‘faith’ Obama has when he openly courts homosexuals and even opposed legislation to protect infants who were born alive after botched abortions,” said TVC Executive Director Andrea Lafferty. “Homosexuality is clearly condemned as a sinful behavior in the Bible and infanticide is the killing of innocent lives. Obama has yet to answer how he could remain in a Black Liberation church for 20 years listening to the hateful rantings of Jeremiah Wright or why he carries a Hindu monkey god as a charm in his pocket. His Christian ‘faith’ is a very strange one.”

Obama also has a large outreach to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender community that is run by Marsha Botzer, formerly with the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) and others. Obama has promised to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) passed in 1996 and to make his administration the most homosexual, bisexual and transgender-affirming ever.
