2008 Democrat Platform - The Most Pro-Homosexual/Transgender Ever And Incredibly Deceptive
By TVC Executive Director Andrea LaffertyAugust 15, 2008 – The 2008 Democratic Party platform draft to be submitted to the delegates at the Democratic National Convention later this month is the most pro-homosexual/ transgender ever and incredibly deceptive.

- Repealing the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which prohibits federal recognition of same-sex partners who are legally married, passed in 1996.
- A national HIV/AIDS strategy
- Repealing the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy
- Passing hate-crimes legislation
- Passing “comprehensive” employment nondiscrimination legislation—30 sexual orientations
- Redefining “family” to include “same-sex couples”
- Pledging to fight “discrimination” based on “gender identity”—which is code for homosexual/bisexual/ transgender and who knows what else.
Why would the Democrats eliminate (or appear to eliminate) these two key provisions. Because they read polls, too and know that the American people are opposed to homosexual marriage. And since Obama is trying to convince Christians and African-Americans of his alleged “faith,” specifically courting the Christian vote, he can’t let those folks know his rabidly pro-homosexual/transgender stand. They are deliberately trying to hide the homosexual agenda in the Platform by using terms most Americans find unfamiliar.
Lesbian activist Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) who serves on the Platform committee, acknowledged that the 2008 document doesn’t use words like gay or lesbian, but instead used terms like “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” to cover gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.
According to Baldwin, the Obama campaign staff and Platform Committee agreed to include homosexual amendments in an omnibus “manager’s amendment” that the full committee approved on August 9. She claims homosexual activists did this to add more “specificity” to the homosexual family provisions.
It was not “specificity” that they were after--but cover. This amendment strategy was done intentionally to avoid any public discussion or paper trail of the strong support for the homosexual/transgender agenda by Senator Obama and the Democrat party.
Baldwin boasted that this Platform will be used to expand the “rights” of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people during the next several years.
The platform language says: “We will enact a comprehensive bipartisan employment non-discrimination act… ” “We oppose the Defense of Marriage Act and all attempts to use this issue to divide us.” The “bipartisan employment non-discrimination act” refers to the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) that will make homosexuality and bisexuality into federally-protected minority groups.
See TVC’s report: Employment Non-Discrimination Act. ENDA will open up protection for 30 bizarre sexual orientations as well.
Rea Carey, the leader of the National Gay And Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF) is pleased with the Democratic Party Platform: “The vision put forth in the 2008 Democratic National Platform is historic in its embrace of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans. Never before in our country’s history has there been a national party platform that is so inclusive of our entire community. It is a forward-looking platform in so many areas, including those relating to LGBT people. The Task Force Action Fund is certainly pleased to see that in the opening paragraph of the section titled ‘A More Perfect Union,’ for the first time the platform explicitly calls for an end to discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.”
Mara Keisling, a man who thinks he’s a woman, is national director of the National Center for Transgender Equality. He has noted: “Gender identity got put in the draft of the platform, and then there was never any serious debate about taking it out.” (Gender identity is code for cross-dressers, drag queens, transsexuals and individuals who call themselves she-males because they maintain both female and male sexual characteristics.)DOMA defines marriage as a one-man, one-woman union for federal law. It protects states from having to recognize homosexual marriages from other states. Senator Obama has stated he supports repeal of DOMA.
Democrats are being deceitful in how they are portraying DOMA and the homosexual marriage issue. Repealing DOMA is supporting homosexual marriage. They know full well that the majority of Americans support traditional marriage and that 27 states already have passed constitutional amendments to protect marriage. Therefore, they are afraid to come out and directly endorse homosexual marriage in the Democrat platform. No one is fooled. The actions of the Democrat platform committee are nothing more than advocating homosexual marriage—plain and simple.
If DOMA is repealed by a Democrat-controlled Senate and House and signed into law by a Democrat President, states without Constitutional amendments will be unable to protect marriage as a one-man, one-woman union. Homosexual marriage will spread like a virus from California and Massachusetts into these unprotected states.
