Scripture Used to Prosecute and Persecute Clergy

June 11, 2008 – A Roman Catholic priest is being accused of committing a “hate crime” against homosexuals in Canada for quoting the Bible.The priest was teaching about homosexuality and marriage and about Catholic doctrine in defense of traditional marriage and the act of homosexuality.

TVC Chairman Rev. Louis P. Sheldon was quoted in OneNewsNow about this serious threat to religious freedom in Canada. “Canada has already passed several laws where clergymen have been affected negatively. And this particular case, I think, is very important because it involves a Roman Catholic priest in good standing doing what his church says.”

A Protestant pastor has also been fined in Canada and told to never criticize homosexuality again by a human rights tribunal! Pastor Stephen Boisson has been ordered to pay $5,000 to two homosexuals and to remain silent about homosexuality from now on!

Rev. Sheldon warned about this trend occurring in America. “[We need] a strong, clear and rational, moral outbreak of protests against this because, if that doesn’t happen, then Christians and Jews and others who use the scriptures are certainly going to be in trouble with those that would report them, that they spoke against homosexuality.”

TVC has been aggressively opposing homosexual marriage and “hate crimes” that are designed to silence anyone who speaks out against homosexual conduct in the United States.
