Let’s Get Journalists To Report The Truth About The ‘Pregnant Man’

June 3, 2008 – Thomas Beatie has gained worldwide attention for allegedly being the first “pregnant man.” Mainstream media outlets are reporting Beatie’s story as if were fact and referring to her as “he” instead of accurately reporting that Beatie is really a woman.Thomas Beatie is actually Tracy Lagondino who lived in Hawaii with her lesbian girlfriend Nancy. Lagondino and her girlfriend were lesbian activists who lobbied for “gay marriage” in that state. They are now transgender activists working to redefine what it means to be married, to be male or female and to be parents.

They eventually moved to Bend, Oregon where she opened up a business called “Define Normal.” Along the way, Lagondino decided she was really a man and had half  of a so-called gender reassignment done on her body. She had her breasts removed but kept her female reproductive and sex organs. She began taking hormone injections so she would grow a beard.

Lagondino claims she is legally a man in the eyes of the law and has “married” Nancy.

She and Nancy decided to have a child, but Nancy could not conceive. Langodino then stopped taking her male hormones so she could conceive. They visited a veterinarian and asked for a syringe without a needle so they could artificially inseminate Lagondino.

Last year, she conceived triplets, but lost all of them due to an ecoptic pregnancy.

In March 2008, she was five months pregnant and went public with her story in The Advocate magazine. Soon she was on Oprah and interviewed by People magazine.

Journalists Misreporting This Story

Liberal and lazy journalists reporting the story about Beatie/Lagondino routinely refer to her as “he.” This is factually and scientifically incorrect. No one can “change” their sex. They can mutilate their bodies and take hormones to look like the opposite sex, but there is no way a person can be anything other than their birth sex. Femaleness and maleness are embedded in the DNA of each person.

If journalists were doing their job of reporting the facts, Lagondino would be described as a woman, a “she” or a she-male. To describe her as a man is inaccurate, unscientific and is evidence that journalists have caved in to the homosexual/transgender lobby.

Journalists who write about transgenderism should either report the facts honestly or openly admit that they’re in the tank for the homosexual/transgender agenda. At least, we could respect a journalist who openly admitted his biases.

Journalists are also currently misreporting the growing incidence of pediatricians treating children with anti-growth hormones so these children can pick their own gender when they go into puberty! Children who are confused about whether they are male or female suffer from what is called a Gender Identity Disorder (GID), which is still listed as a mental disorder by the American Psychiatric Association.

Yet, activist pediatricians and lazy journalists are now referring to these confused kids as being “gender variant.” They’re being given anti-growth hormones instead of being treated for a serious mental illness.

Dr. Sander Breiner, a respected NARTH member, has worked with individuals who are confused about their gender and who asked for a sex-change operation to correct what they viewed as being trapped in the body of the wrong sex. The technical term for this is gender dysphoria.

Breiner worked with these gender-confused individuals at Wayne State University and describes his experience in “Transsexuality Explained.” According to Breiner, the surgery program was discontinued at his university because the physicians realized that the problem facing these individuals was a mental one, not a physical one.

These doctors found that after performing surgery on men and women who wanted to be the opposite sex, the surgery was never enough to satisfy them. They wanted repeated surgery to fix other perceived problems with their bodies. As Breiner writes:

“…when an adult who is normal in appearance and functioning believes there is something ugly or defective in their appearance that needs to be changed, it is clear that there is a psychological problem of some significance.

“The more pervasive and extensive is this misperception of oneself, the more significant is the psychological problem. The more the patient is willing to do extensive surgical intervention (especially when it is destructive), the more serious is the psychological problem.”

Wayne State University stopped doing these so-called sex change operations as well as Johns Hopkins University when physicians there found the same mental problems with those seeking these operations. This is a mental problem, not a physical problem.

Regrettably, dozens of states are now going along with this fiction by permitting these confused individuals to have driver’s licenses that indicate they’re the opposite sex.

Journalists should accurately report the facts about gender dysphoria and Gender Identity Disorders and the psychological problems of individuals like Lagondino who have rejected their birth sex.

They should consult the NARTH web site for accurate medical information about GID and gender confusion; they should consult the Traditional Values Coalition site for information on the political and cultural agenda of homosexual and transgender activists.

Journalists who have caved in to the homosexual/transgender agenda are helping perpetuate mental illnesses, the destruction of the family; and the mutilation of children who are being exploited by activist pediatricians for political gain!

Journalists should be held accountable for their misreporting of the facts about Beatie/Lagondino, GID and transgenderism.

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) actually has a stylebook that they distribute to journalists telling them what terms are acceptable and what terms are not. They meet with journalists to tell them how to report the news on homosexuality and transgenderism so as not to offend this powerful lobby.

When terms such as “gender identity” are used in news stories, for example, the term should be “gender identity disorder.” When reporters write about a person who has undergone mutilating surgery, they should describe the person by their birth sex, not the fake sex they are creating with hormones or surgery.

When journalists refer to children as “gender variant,” they should be corrected. They’re describing a child with a Gender Identity Disorder who needs therapy, not anti-growth hormones or to be permitted to wear opposite sex clothing to school.

WHAT CAN YOU DO? Write a letter to your local paper and ask that the reporters on their papers accurately describe Beatie/Lagondino and other individuals who are confused about their gender.
