The TransYouth Family Advocates group is pushing this effort in the school with the assistance of the boy’s parents and school officials.

The boy clearly suffers from what’s known in Psychiatry as a Gender Identity Disorder (GID). This mental disorder is listed in the APA’s Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV). However, transgender activist groups are claiming that this boy simply has a “gender identity” or “gender variant” identity that is different from his birth sex. The reasoning is that this is a positive condition that should be encouraged.

According to Kim Pearson with TransYouth Family Advocates, many young boys and girls are “realizing their true gender identity” by claiming to be the opposite sex.

“What is being done to this poor confused boy is outrageous and is nothing less than child abuse and medical malpractice by school officials and the parents of this troubled child,” said TVC Executive Director Andrea Lafferty. “This child needs professional counseling to overcome the rejection of his biological sex. He should not be encouraged to remain in this unstable mental condition.”

Not only will the Castle Rock school district affirm this child’s Gender Identity Disorder, but it will provide “mental health professionals” to teach all of the children and their parents in the district that this child is normal. “In short, the mentally disordered child will be considered normal, while parents and children who question having a boy wearing girl’s dresses and thinking he’s a girl will be considered in need of professional help. The inmates appear to be running the asylum in Castle Rock.”

Lafferty continued: “TVC has long warned its readers about the normalization of transvestism and transsexualism in our culture. The effort is being fueled by the homosexual movement and is now reaching into our schools to confuse the thinking of the young. It is our hope that courageous parents will rise up in Castle Rock to challenge the normalization of a mental illness in children.”
