ENDA Vote Expected In Congress Next Week

It Still Protects ‘Gender Identity’ And Violates Religious Liberties
November 1, 2007 – After repeatedly scheduling and then postponing a vote on the H.R. 3685, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), the Democrat leadership has announced that a vote on ENDA is now scheduled for the week of November 5th!
According to Pelosi, “Everything’s been worked out.” This appears to indicate that some sort of deal has been worked out between the warring liberal/homosexual/drag queen factions over what is to be included in ENDA.

1. It is absolutely essential that you contact your legislator immediately and urge them to vote NO on ENDA--- and the Baldwin “gender identity” and Miller phony religious exemption amendments.

It is very important that you do two things immediately to ensure your voice is heard! Take ten minutes now to protect your religious freedom.

1. Send an email to your US Representative so your position will be documented — Cap Wiz.

2. Call your US Representative to also register your comments: 202-225-3121.

2. You must multiply your voice in order to win this vote. Contact at least 12 of your friends and family by using the Tell-A-Friend service. Ask each to contact another 12 people. It is important that every legislator, both Democrat and Republican, hear from people in their district urging them to vote NO on of ENDA, including the Baldwin and Miller amendments.

Background Over The ENDA Drama-rama
Liberal lesbian Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) is proposing adding a “gender identity” amendment into homosexual Barney Frank’s H.R. 3685, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA).

Rep. Frank’s original bill, H.R. 2015 had included “gender identity,” but he withdrew it from consideration in the House due to fierce opposition from TVC and from Democrat Members of Congress who fear voting in support of transgenders/she males etc.

Rep. Frank then created two new versions of ENDA. H.R. 3685 did not have “gender identity” specifically mentioned; H.R. 3686 is the old version of H.R. 2015 with the words “gender identity” included. (The term “gender identity” actually refers to a mental illness known as a Gender Identity Disorder [GID].)

Confused yet? Now, Rep. Baldwin and her cross-dressing/transsexual allies are pushing to add “gender identity” into H.R. 3685.

H.R. 3685, even without the words “gender identity” included in it, will still provide federally-protected status for cross-dressers, drag queens, transsexuals, she-males and other bizarre sexual orientations listed by the American Psychiatric Association.

There are two ways that “gender identity” is protected by H.R. 3685 (without ever using the term in the bill):

  1. H.R. 3685 contains the words “actual or perceived” to protect various sexual orientations. The word “perceived” is a purposely vague term that can be used by a cross-dresser or she-male to claim that his employer “perceived” him to be a transgender person and discriminated against him because of it. The business owner will then have to prove in court that he didn’t “perceive” the person to be a cross-dresser. Judges and lawyers will have to get inside the employer’s mind to determine if he had negative thoughts about a potential cross-dressing employee. This will end up being a legal nightmare for business owners. Their thoughts will be on trial.

Under the term perceived, homosexuals and transgenders receive far broader protection than that provided for African-Americans, Hispanics, women, or people of faith under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The word "perceived" is not found in Title VII. This gives great protections to homosexuals, transgenders and other bizarre sexual orientations than currently exists in Title VII for legitimate minorities.

  1. H.R. 3685 protects “sexual orientation,” which is defined as heterosexuality, homosexuality and bisexuality. Yet, any individual who has one of these sexual orientations may also have multiple sexual orientations, according to the American Psychiatric Association. The APA’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) lists 30 sexual orientations. Among them are: voyeurism, asphyxophilia (sexual pleasure from choking); frotteurism (rubbing up against a woman); partialism (sexual attraction to body parts); transvestic fetishism (cross-dressing) and more. By making “sexual orientation” a federally-protected class, the Congress will also be protecting all of these bizarre sexual orientations as well.

The Real Life Effect of ENDA

  • Religious employees of businesses may be forced into taking pro-homosexual sensitivity training courses or to sign employment documents forcing them to accept homosexuality, bisexuality, etc. as legitimate behaviors.

  • A hostile work environment is created for people of faith who reject homosexuality as sinful. Numerous cases already exist of Christians being persecuted for objecting to homosexuality in the work place. An AT&T employee was fired several years ago for refusing to sign a work policy that condoned homosexuality. The Red Cross in San Diego fired a man for not celebrating homosexuality. ENDA will worsen the work place for Christians and others because it will have the force of the federal government behind it.

  • Liberal judges will be given the legal ammunition to undermine state and federal marriage laws that define marriage as between one man and one woman. Judges will use ENDA as an excuse to overturn any bans on homosexual marriage in the states. By making "sexual orientation" a federally-protected minority class, this will provide legislative approval for homosexual marriage.

  • Businesses with 15 or more employees will face a litigation nightmare. Anyone with a bizarre sexual orientation can claim protection under this legislation. (See the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).

  • The workplace is not just an employee's cubicle. Workplaces are public facilities frequented by children---restaurants, stores, theaters, theme parks, hospitals or medical facilities/doctor's offices, etc.

Amendments

  • Rep. George Miller (D-CA) has offered a phony religious protection amendment supposedly designed to protect religious educational institutions. It is written in such convoluted language that it does nothing. Many Christian schools, universities, summer camps will still be forced to comply with ENDA. It offers no greater protection than is in the current draft of HR 3685. In addition, Christian organizations such as Traditional Values Coalition would be forced to comply with ENDA

  • Rep. Tammy Baldwin's (D-WI), amendment will put "gender identity" specifically back into the bill. It will open up a whole new series of litigation and restroom/shower facility problems for businesses and Christian enterprises.

  • Congress should not make a Gender Identity Disorder into a protected class under federal law. Being a cross-dresser, drag queen, or transsexual is evidence of disturbed thinking. These individuals need therapy, not minority protection under federal law.
