SB 1437, SB 1471, AB 606 AND AB 1056 ARE AWAITING THE GOVERNOR’S SIGNATURE OR VETO

Are California Citizens going to respond in a way that will cause Governor Schwarzenegger to veto these bills? Or are we going to make one easy phone call and feel we have done our part?

The Governor has until Sept. 30th. If we really care we need to:
1. FIRST--WRITE A LETTER. Letters are more effective than a phone call. Send a separate letter for each of the bills as they are put into separate files. Be polite, but tell the Governor how important this is to you. Churches should write on church stationery.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger
State Capitol, Sacramento, CA. 95814

To send Governor Schwarzenegger an electronic message, go to this link: http://www.govmail.ca.gov/
Governor’s Email: governor@governor.ca.gov
Governor’s Fax No.: (916) 445-4633

2. CONTACT AT LEAST 10 OTHER PEOPLE to write and call.

3. CALL SEVERAL TIMES, especially as Sept 30 nears if he hasn’t acted.

SB 1437 -- Ask him to keep his promise to veto the SB 1437.

SB 1437 (Kuehl-D) This would change textbooks to require that “no textbook or other instructional materials shall be adopted by the state board or by any governing board for use in the public schools that contains any matter reflecting adversely” when referencing transvestitism, transgender, she-males, homosexuality, and bisexuality.

This does not mean neutrality; this means that if a positive presentation is not included by having pictures and positive comments, it would reflect adversely. The homosexual teachers’ groups are already putting out teaching materials for placing these materials in every course--even down to kindergarten.

In addition, no school can sponsor any activity that reflects adversely on these sexual arrangements. Consider what will happen in sports, bathrooms, proms, etc., if a male considers himself to be a female.

SB 1437 cleverly accomplishes two major goals of radical homosexual activists: It gives pro-homosexual teachers free reign to teach whatever they want about the alleged positive aspects of homosexuality—and it silences all opposition to it. Teachers would be free to promote homosexuality but banned from discussing any negative consequences, as Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez (Democrat) admitted, “If somebody wants to teach kids in kindergarten that Jack and Jill ran up a hill, this bill doesn’t prohibit that. But it does say that if somebody (teachers) wants to say that if Jill and Jill ran up the hill and somehow that’s wrong—then this bill says that that is not acceptable.”

It is child abuse to cause confusion to children concerning their sexuality. The young students in the Bay Area are already coming to school confused about their sexuality. Other results are self-hatred and mutilation. This is child abuse.

SB 1471 – Sex Education in Schools (Kuehl-D) -- A few of the requirements as follows:
  • May not teach or promote religious doctrine.
  • Changes definition of minors to those under 12.
  • Requires saying that the only way to prevent pregnancy is to abstain from sexual intercourse and to prevent sexually transmitted diseases is to abstain from activities that transmit them.
  • For sex education classes requires that more than one session for age 12 years and older—required programs on pregnancy prevention—materials MUST provide info about the effectiveness and safety of ALL DRUGS AND DEVICES approved by the federal FDA, including emergency contraception.
  • For sex education classes more than one session for age 12 years and older—required programs on sexually transmitted disease—materials MUST provide information about the effectiveness and safety of ALL DRUGS AND DEVICES approved by the FDA and info on local resources for testing and treatment. (Anal sex, oral sex, etc.)
  • Applies to all programs, public and private that receive state funding.
  • Cannot reflect or show bias based on sexual orientation or any transgender--so no truth concerning homosexual sex.
AB 606 (Levine-D) – Suspends All School Funding if teaching concerning homosexuality is not sufficient. Removes local school board discretion.

AB 606 would allow for the State Superintendent to solely determine which schools and school districts are in compliance with the required pro-homosexual policies. For those schools that are deemed out of compliance, they would have their funding suspended!

AB 606 deletes the current provision in law that gives schools the option of excluding curriculum, textbooks, presentations, etc., based on homosexuality. Schools would be forced to include curriculum & textbooks that promote and advocate homosexuality

AB 606 is a dangerous bill that will have far-reaching implications in our schools and what is taught. It would remove local discretion of school boards and give immense power to the state. It would also pave the way for schools to be forced to include curriculum, textbooks or other materials that accept, embrace and advocate homosexuality.

AB 606 seeks to force all school districts in California to implement and advertise anti-discrimination policies that specifically focus on homosexuality, bisexuality and transgenderism. These policies must include teacher and staff training on how to “identify” so-called discrimination.

This is another sly attempt to label any teacher or student’s objection to homosexuality based on moral or religious reasons as being discriminatory

AB 1056 changes definition of tolerance to include “conveying respect” even if violates beliefs.

Governor Schwarzenegger vetoed this bill last year. AB 1056 would designate $250,000 for “tolerance” relations programs in 10 schools selected by the State Board of Education, the very same board that would determine curriculum standards under AB 606.

AB 1056 would implement for the next 5 years pilot programs that “promote tolerance” on issues like one’s perceived gender, homosexuality, bisexuality and transsexuality. Schools can only spend their funds to buy supplemental materials or teacher training where outside pro-homosexual organizations are consulted or included in the training! The young and impressionable minds of California’s students are in trouble if we allow both AB 606 and AB 1056 to become signed into law!

Now more than ever, California’s schools are being forced to abandon moral sanity .

“If the foundations are destroyed, where will the righteous stand?” Psalm 11:3

3. CALL
