TVC Condemns Ninth Circuit Court’s Arrogant Violation of Parental Rights

Washington, DC – Traditional Values Coalition Executive Director, Mrs. Andrea Lafferty, has issued the following statement in response to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that parents have no right to complain about explicit sex surveys given to elementary school children in Palmdale, California. The three-judge panel dismissed a complaint by parents over an invasive sex survey that asked children explicit sexual questions such as if they ever thought about touching another person’s private parts.

Mrs. Lafferty stated:“This latest outrage by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals shoves parents out of the way and establishes unelected judges as the primary caretakers of California’s children.

“I can think of motorcycle gangs which are better suited to oversee the upbringing of our children than this bunch of out-of-touch liberals.”

“The Ninth Circuit panel wrongly stated that parents do not have a fundamental right to be the exclusive provider of information on sexual matters—and have no due process or privacy rights to override public schools!

“This is judicial tyranny at its worst and gives public schools free reign to teach children whatever they want about sexuality—even if it violates the religious beliefs of parents.

“This outrageous edict from three of the robed masters on the Ninth Circuit should be a final wake up call to all parents in the western states that this renegade Court that must be split up!

“It’s no surprise that the radical judge who wrote the opinion is Stephen Reinhardt, whose wife, Ramona Ripston, is the Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties Union in Southern California! It’s also no surprise that the Ninth Circuit is considered the most liberal federal Court in the nation—and has the dubious distinction of being the most overturned Court in the nation.

“TVC condemns this decision and vows that we will do whatever we can to get the Ninth Circuit split in order to minimize the damage that these renegade judges can do to violate parental rights—and to expose children to vile sex education programs!”
