New Book On Psychology Exposes Politically Correct/Homosexual Agenda

June 30, 2005 –A. Dean Byrd, Ph.D., is Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosxuality (NARTH). In reviewing a new book, Destructive Trends in Mental Health: The Well-Intentioned Path to Harm,Dr. Byrd describes it as “the most important book of the decade, perhaps of the last several decades, in mental health.” The editors of this book, Rogers Wright and Nicolas A. Cummings both describe themselves as liberals but they provide an incredibly accurate critique of the mental health profession and lament how it has been captured by the forces of ultra-liberalism, political correctness and the homosexual agenda.

The editors write: “Psychology, psychiatry, and social work have been captured by an ultra-liberal agenda” and “Misguided political correctness tethers our intellects.”

According to Dr. Byrd, the authors chronicle how the American Psychological Association has been politicized by ultra liberals and homosexual activists and how the entire profession has been corrupted by political agendas.

Destructive Trends is a must-read for anyone who wants to understand how the mental health profession has been compromised by ultra-liberalism and the homosexual agenda. According to Dr. Byrd, the authors “have re-instilled faith in psychology—faith that there remain honorable men and women whose passion for the profession will no longer allow them to stay silent in the midst of abuses of power, acts of discrimination and worldview intolerance, and the repeated misrepresentation of activism as science. Perhaps if the APA does not begin to regulate itself, the legislatures, the public and the courts will.”
