Jim McGreevey's Promiscuity And The APA

Washington, DC - If New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey is telling us the truth, he has committed two serious sexual sins against God and his wife: Adultery and Sodomy. As a professing Catholic, McGreevey should understand the grave nature of these sinful activities in the eyes of the church. But, apparently, he does not. He has now carefully positioned himself as a "victim" in this incident. In his announcement that he was resigning in November over coming revelations of what he calls a "consensual" affair with Golan Sipel, he proudly declared that he was a "Gay American." His second wife stood by his side as he unashamedly announced this to the world. Where there should have been repentance for betraying his wife, he only displayed pride.

McGreevey's admission of this affair is undoubtedly not the full truth. In fact, his accuser has now publicly stated that he is straight and was a victim of McGreevey's unwanted homosexual advances. The truth will have to be sought out by aggressive journalists or in a court of law.

McGreevey's closeted homosexuality or bisexuality has been rumored for years in New Jersey politics yet was never vigorously pursued by the liberal mainstream media. One can only surmise how many other homosexual relationships he has engaged in over the years-while maintaining the façade of a churchgoer and happily married family man. We can be sure that his homosexual attraction to Golan Sipel was not his first promiscuous encounter. He was apparently willing to put his wife at risk of acquiring an incurable STD or AIDS as part of his homosexual adulterous affairs.

Last week, the Traditional Values Coalition issued a call to the New Jersey legislature to reconsider passage of a homosexual domestic partnership law in view of McGreevey's clear conflict of interest in pushing this legislation. New Jerseyans deserve another vote on this law that is free of McGreevey's hidden sexual agenda.

The governor's announcement that he is a "Gay American," is a tribute to the success of homosexual activists in convincing millions of Americans that homosexuality is a fixed identity, not a psychological condition that should be treated and cured. Much of the blame for this misinformation comes from the American Psychiatric Association, which was subverted from the inside and attacked from the outside in the early 1970s by homosexual activists.

The removal of homosexuality as a mental disorder from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders in 1973 was accomplished by closeted homosexuals inside the group and by harassment tactics instigated by radical homosexual organizations on the outside. The removal of homosexuality from the DSM was not done for scientific reasons; it was done to appease homosexual activists. The entire history of this medical malpractice is grimly detailed in Dr. Ronald Bayer's book, Homosexuality and American Psychiatry: The Politics of Diagnosis.

Governor Jim McGreevey's sexual orientation disturbance and his homosexual adulterous relationship (if this actually occurred), is the logical result of three decades of homosexual propaganda and the willingness of the APA to be used for political purposes by sexual liberationists.

While McGreevey's sins are now open to the world, the sin of the APA in normalizing a dangerous psychological condition is still hidden. It is actually the greater crime against individuals struggling with abnormal same-sex attractions. The APA has condemned individuals like McGreevey to a life of mental problems, substance abuse, anal cancer, and fatal sexually transmitted diseases. It's important that McGreevey genuinely repent of his sins against his wife, but it's also time for the APA to reverse its ideological, politically-based decision of 1973 and realize that thousands of people have overcome their gender identity conflicts.
