Obama’s Nominee For Deputy Attorney General: Pro-Child Porn, Pro-Abortion, Pro-Homosexual

David Ogden has long supported the abortion, pornography, and homosexual agenda. He will push Obama’s extremist political goals with Attorney General Eric Holder.

February 9, 2009 -- David Ogden has been picked to become the Deputy Attorney General in the Department of Justice (DOJ).
“Ogden has a long and very public record of supporting a variety of anti-family, anti-Christian causes including: abortion on demand; child pornography; and the homosexual agenda, including homosexuals serving openly in the military,” said Traditional Values Coalition Executive Director Andrea Lafferty. “He has a disdain for the safety of children and for unborn children – and considers abortion an absolute constitutional right. He’s just one more in a long line of outrageous Obama appointments of homosexuals, pro-aborts and – now – pro-pornography zealots.”

In one of his legal briefs for the abortion industry, Ogden wrongly claimed that women who have abortions experience no significant mental health effects from it.
In Planned Parenthood v Casey, he wrote:

Abortion rarely causes or exacerbates psychological or emotional problems.  When women do experience regret, depression, or guilt, such feelings are mild and diminish rapidly without adversely affecting general functioning.  The few women who do experience negative psychological responses after abortion appear to be those with preexisting emotional problems ....

and:

In sum, it is grossly misleading to tell a woman that abortion imposes possible detrimental psychological effects when the risks are negligible in most cases, when the evidence shows that she is more likely to experience feelings of relief and happiness, and when child-birth and child-rearing or adoption may pose concomitant (if not greater) risks or adverse psychological effects ....
He previously served in the Janet Reno Justice Department and was the leader of the DOJ’s tobacco litigation team. Between 1982-1983, he served as Law Clerk to Associate Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun – the Justice who claimed to have discovered the “right” to abortion in the Constitution. Blackmun wrote the Roe v. Wade decision that has resulted in the killing of millions of unborn babies since 1973.

Supports Death For Young And Old: Ogden has opposed parental notification laws on abortion and filed a brief claiming that abortion poses no mental health threat to the women who aborts her child. (Casey v. Planned Parenthood, 1992) In Rust v. Sullivan (1990), Ogden argued that women should receive federal funding to abort their kids. In Gonzalez v. Oregon (2006) he supported physician assisted suicide.

Supports Child Porn And Child Access To Pornography: Ogden has also filed briefs against the Children’s Internet Protection Act and the Child Protection and Obscenity Enforcement Act. Both of these bills were designed to protect children from internet pornography. Ogden represented such sleazy publications as Playboy and Penthouse magazines and librarians who want unrestricted access to pornography on library computers (United States v. American Library Association)

Ogden also wrote a friend of the court brief in support of Stephen A. Knox for violating federal anti-child pornography laws. Writing on behalf of the ACLU, Ogden defended the “right” of Knox to view child pornography.

During his Senate confirmation hearing last week, Ogden had what his critics call a “confirmation conversion.” He now claims to abhor child pornography and thinks library filters are important in protecting kids. Ogden has spent his life defending pornography and representing the dregs of society. It is convenient for him to suddenly claim he thinks “child pornography is abhorrent.”

Supports Homosexual Agenda: Ogden represented the American Psychological Association and American Psychiatric Association in the Lawrence v. Texas case (2003). This case overturned all state laws criminalizing sodomy. In Watkins v. United States Army (1989), he supported homosexuals serving openly in the military.

Supports “Compassion” Over Impartiality In Making Legal Decisions: Ogden rejects judicial restraint in making legal decisions. He believes that decisions must be based on “human need” and “human dignity.” For example, he praised Justice Harry Blackmun’s Roe v. Wade abortion ruling because it was based on “compassion,” “human need” and “human dignity!”

“Ogden will obviously serve AG Eric Holder and President Barack Hussein Obama well. Clearly, he reflects their anti-biblical views on these issues,” said Lafferty. “He views the Constitution as an inconvenience that can be ignored if it gets in the way of his political agenda. He will be a great ally for advocates for death and homosexuality inside the Justice Department.”
