They are finally here! The revised parental rights petitions have been approved by the State Attorney General and Secretary of State’s offices and have been given back to us to resume our effort to gather signatures.

Traditional Values Coalition remains committed to gather over 550,000 signatures from Californians to stop our children from further homosexual indoctrination. We must gather these signatures by May 31, 2005.

We need your help today!

This effort will require much from us. We will need every person to set aside the time needed to gather signatures from friends, family and fellow church-goers. Remember, we are on a deadline.

With previous legislation signed into law over the recent years, blatant acceptance of homosexuality has made its way into the classroom. From textbooks to lesson plans to homosexuals serving as teachers themselves, our kids are being subjected to pro-homosexual teachings all in the name of “diversity” and preventing so-called “hate.” And state law is currently written so that schools are not obligated to notify parents about homosexual content being given to students.

Liberal legislators dominate the State Senate and State Assembly. They have catered to every demand of the radical homosexual community. The voices of California’s families are not being heard. We cannot rely on the legislature to respect the values parents instill in their children. That is why we need to bypass the legislature and enact a law of our own.

The Secretary of State’s Office requires that we gather 550,000 signatures before May 31, 2005 in order for us to qualify the initiative for the Primary Election in 2006.

The proposed initiative has been called the “Civil Rights for Families Initiative.”

Here is what the Civil Rights for Families Initiative would do:

• Require schools to give parents/guardians written notice no more that 15 days and no less than 10 days in advance of any presentation, lecture, or lesson on homosexuality, bisexuality, trans-sexuality.
• Require schools to obtain written consent and permission from a parent or guardian that it is allowable to have their child take part in such presentations, lectures, lessons, etc. (Students who do not have parental permission will not be penalized but will be given another form of study worth equal credit)
• Prohibit any teaching on homosexuality, bisexuality, trans-sexuality and other topics to grades 1 to6.
• Require schools to keep copies of any materials on homosexuality, bisexuality, and trans-sexuality and to make them available for parents/guardians to inspect, review and copy. Such material must be available at least 15 days in advance and 15 days afterwards.
• School districts and school personnel that are found to be in violation of the above provisions would be liable for damages to the student or student’s parents/guardians in the amount of $5,000 for each incident they are in violation.
• Would restrict 18 different forms of sexual activity or lifestyles (like orgies, sodomy, masturbation, as well as homosexuality, bisexuality and trans-sexuality) from being taught without parental permission.

This proposed initiative would be historic! It would be the end to schools indoctrinating our children and grandchildren with pro-homosexual propaganda without our consent and knowledge.

The values parents instill in their children must not be undermined or challenged in publicly-funded schools! Advocating homosexuality to our youth and impressionable young ones is not part of a valued education. We must take back our schools. Parental authority and oversight concerning what is presented to their child on sexual matters must be respected .

This initiative would ensure that those students whose parents do not want their child to participate in questionable teachings and presentations are not subjected to it. Those parents who do not mind having their child participate would be able to take part. This initiative does not infringe upon anyone’s moral, personal or religious beliefs. In fact, this initiative respects any parent’s beliefs on the sensitive issues of homosexuality, bisexuality, etc. because it would not force such teachings on any student.

Getting the necessary signatures to place this initiative on the ballot would send a shockwave to liberal Sacramento politicians who have stopped at nothing to implement these pro-homosexual policies in our schools. They have arrogantly voted these bills into law and have thumbed their noses at traditional families in California. If we are successful they will see that the writing is on the wall…and their time has come!

Make no mistake, this initiative is needed! We need the financial resources and the people to gather signatures to make this initiative a reality. Parental authority is so important!
