Send Letter Of Support to Judge Samuel Alito And His Family

January 12, 2006 – Judge Samuel Alito’s wife Martha-Ann was so shaken up by the badgering that her husband had to endure from liberal Senators on Jan. 11, that she left the Judiciary Committee hearing in tears. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) apologized to Judge Alito for the treatment he’d received from liberals. “Judge Alito, I am sorry that you’ve had to go through this. I am sorry that your family has had to sit here and listen to this,” said Graham.

“Most people who live outside the DC Beltway aren’t used to being vilified in public,” said TVC Executive Director Andrea Lafferty today. “They’re unaccustomed to having their loved ones accused of racism or sexism on national television. Judge Alito and his wife and children deserve our compassion and prayers for what liberal Senators have put him through.”

Mrs. Lafferty is asking TVC supporters to send a letter of encouragement to Judge Alito and his family for what they have endured at the hands of Senators Kennedy, Schumer, Biden, and others on the committee who have done their best to paint Alito as a threat to the Constitution and civil rights. TVC is also calling upon supporters to pray for the Alito family. “The Senators who have lied about and mischaracterized Alito’s views have failed to turn public opinion against Judge Alito,” said Mrs. Lafferty, “but their vicious attacks have taken their toll on this fine family. They need our prayers and encouragement.”
