Civil Unions
Civil Unions are actually homosexual marriages and typically provide homosexual couples with the same rights and responsibilities as do marriages under the law.
Civil unions and domestic partnerships have been used by homosexual activists as a stealth tactic to gain acceptance of homosexual marriage. See TVC’s report: “Homosexual Civil Unions”
Defense Of Marriage Act
The Defense of Marriage Act was signed into law in 1996. It protects states from being forced to recognize out-of-state homosexual marriages.
If DOMA is repealed, every state in the union would be forced to recognize homosexual marriages from other states – regardless of the objections of the citizens of those states. |
