Abortion

The Republican Party believes that unborn children have a right to life and that federal funds should not be used to promote abortion.

The Democrat Party believes that abortion is a constitutional right, regardless of ability to pay. They support partial birth abortion and even born alive aborted babies can be left to die. Tax dollars should be spent on sex education even at a young age and for family planning services.

.

Climate Change

Republicans support technology-driven, market-based solutions that will decrease emissions, reduce excess greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere, increase energy efficiency, mitigate the impact of climate change and maximize any ancillary benefits climate change might offer for the economy.

The Democrat Party believes that global climate change is the greatest threat facing our planet and that America must reduce carbon emissions as quickly as possible. We must also export clean technologies to other countries.

.

Faith-Based Programs

The Republican Party believes faith-based groups should have the right to participate in public-funded social programs without renouncing or compromising their religious beliefs, removing religious objects or symbols, setting their own membership standards and hiring practices – including the Boy Scouts.

The Democrat Party believes that faith-based groups have a place in dealing with social problems. However, the Party draws a line prohibiting faith-based groups from using their religious values and beliefs as a key factor in hiring decisions.

.

HIV/AIDS

Republicans believe that HIV/AIDS is a global issue in which the United States has been an unrivaled leader in funding programs here and abroad to address this pandemic.

The Democrat Party believes that HIV/AIDS must be fought around the globe and in the United States. It urges Medicaid coverage to low-income persons with this disease.

.

Israel -
Middle East

The Republican Party believes we must stop global terrorism and terrorist groups abroad and in American and must support Israel’s right to exist.

Democrats believe in supporting Israel and the creation of a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict.

.

Marriage
Sexuality
Homosexual Adoption

The Republican Party supports passage of a constitutional amendment that protects traditional marriage. It also supports the Defense Of Marriage Act (DOMA) that protects states from being forced to recognize out-of-state homosexual marriages.

The Democrat Party supports homosexual marriage and will work to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act – forcing states to recognize out-of-state homosexual marriages and supports homosexual adoption and foster parenting.

.

Religious Liberty

The Republican Party believes the original intent of the First Amendment is to allow individuals or groups free expression of religion and it likewise prohibits the establishment of a state-sponsored national creed.

The Democrat Party honors the central place of faith in our lives but religious freedom is negated by the false interpretation that civil rights trump religion.
