CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was calling to see if you guys do abortions there?

CLINIC: We do.

CALLER: Oh. How much does that cost?

CLINIC: Do you know how far along you are in the pregnancy?

CALLER: Well, no. I just haven't had my period since December 26, and I'm just really scared.

CLINIC: If you're less than 10 weeks pregnant and you aren't planning on using any sort of health insurance, then the cost is $600.

CALLER: Okay. Do you know if you would have to tell my parents? My boyfriend's 22. Would he be able to do whatever it is and they wouldn't have to tell anybody?

CLINIC: You can sign for yourself.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: You don't need anybody else there.

CALLER: Even if like -- well I'm going to be 14 next month, and you're sure?

CLINIC: Um-hum.

CALLER: Okay. Would it be possible to come in and get a pregnancy test there?

CLINIC: You can. It costs $30.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Have you done a pregnancy test like from the market?

CALLER: Well, no.

CLINIC: Okay. Well, that's probably a good place to start.

CALLER: Oh, really?

CLINIC: Yeah.

CALLER: Are those usually right?

CLINIC: Um-hum. If you follow the instructions they're over usually 99 percent correct.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: I would definitely give those -- you know, go to the Bonds or the market and just buy a pregnancy test.

CALLER: Would anybody have to know if I came in there for a pregnancy test?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Okay. It's just me and my boyfriend were talking about all this and he said that he would pay for everything, but we don't want a whole bunch of people to know about us. Would he have to sign anything if he was paying for it all?

CLINIC: You have to sign in and you know, kind of like a normal patient, but your medical records are your privacy.

CALLER: Okay. But would there be any records on him?

CLINIC: No. You're the patient, not him.

CALLER: Oh, all right. Well, if it turned out that I wasn't pregnant, could I get birth control there?

CLINIC: You can get a one-month prescription, but the rest you need to go to your normal doctor for.

CALLER: Oh, all right. But would anybody have to know if I was on birth control?

CLINIC: That's between you and your doctor.

CALLER: Oh, all right. Okay. I would have to call my boyfriend back and see. Could I call you back and set up an appointment? What was your name?

CLINIC: My name's Erica.

CALLER: Okay. Thank you.

CLINIC: You're welcome.
