CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was wondering if you guys do abortions there?

CLINIC: No, we don't. But our center in Walnut Creek and Concord do. Do you want their phone number?

CALLER: Yeah.

CLINIC: Okay. Concord is 676-0300. And Walnut Creek is 935-3010.

CALLER: Okay. Well do you know -- I'm just really worried about all this because like, well I'm going to be 14 in March, and my friend told me that you guys would have tao tell my parents I'm getting an abortion. But my boyfriend's 22. Is that old enough to take care of it and they wouldn't have to tell anybody about anything?

CLINIC: Oh, god. You're boyfriend's 22?

CALLER: Yeah.

CLINIC: Umm. Yeah. Hold on, please.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: No, you'll be fine. It's just going to be a problem if you let them know that your partner is over 21, because that is against the law.

CALLER: Why is it against the law?

CLINIC: Because you, you know, it's not -- if he's over 21 and you're under 18 and you're having intercourse it's just -- you don't know about that law in California?

CALLER: No.

CLINIC: Yeah. You need to get informed about that. So just don't let them know, but you don't have to have your parents know. You don't have to have them know that you're getting a procure in Concord, okay?

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: So you're protected by the right of privacy, but don't mention your partner is that old, okay?

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: Well, could I come in there for a pregnancy test though?

CLINIC: Do it all at Concord.

CALLER: Oh, well, my friend just told me to go to you guys because it was better to go there.

CLINIC: No. You can do it all there.

CALLER: Oh, really?

CLINIC: Um-hum.

CALLER: Oh. Well, okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: If I wasn't pregnant though, could i come in there and get birth control?

CLINIC: If you want.

CALLER: But would you have to tell anybody I was on birth control though?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Oh, okay. It's just, I haven't taken a pregnancy test yet, and I'm not really sure if I'm pregnant. So.

CLINIC: What does the pregnancy test say?

CALLER: Well, I haven't had one yet.

CLINIC: Okay. So why do you think you're pregnant?

CALLER: Oh, well I just haven't had my period since like December 21st, so I'm just really worried.

CLINIC: Well, you can come in and take a pregnancy test here. I mean, and you know you can come in and take a pregnancy test any day before 4:00 and we call you back at home with your pregnancy test results. Depending on that you can go there.

CALLER: Okay. Well, if my boyfriend drives me there for the pregnancy test would that be a problem?

CLINIC: No. It's just, just don't state that that is your partner or whatever. Just -- you know, we shouldn't really want to know that that is because we do have to report it.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: So just -- you shouldn't have any problem. He shouldn't have to be involved in any of this.

CALLER: Oh. Well, he said that he was going to pay for everything, so.

CLINIC: Well, I mean, we don't have to know where the money's coming from as long as you have the money. Okay?

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: So something else is, if you are pregnant and you do want to terminate the pregnancy you can go into Medical and apply then so that Medical can cover your visit.

CALLER: Would they have to tell my parents though?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Oh.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: Okay, bye bye.

CALLER: Bye.
