(music) (ringing 3X) CLINIC: Planned Parenthood. CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was wondering if you guys do abortions there? CLINIC: Yes, we do. CALLER: Well, how much do those cost? CLINIC: They range from $428 to $1,100 depending on income and how far along the patient is. CALLER: Okay. Well, I don't have a job or anything. CLINIC: Okay. CALLER: It's just, well my friend told me that since like I'm going to be 14 in March that you guys would actually have to tell my parents that I'm getting an abortion. But my boyfriend is 22. Is he old enough to take care of it and you wouldn't have to tell anybody about anything? CLINIC: We wouldn't contact your parents regardless of how old you are. CALLER: Okay. All right. Well, do you know, like -- well I'm not really sure if I am pregnant. Actually I just haven't had my period since like December 21st, and I'm really worried. CLINIC: You should take a pregnancy test. CALLER: Well, could I come in there for that? CLINIC: Yeah, you can come in tomorrow from 12:00 to 7:00. CALLER: All right. Well, is it all right like if my boyfriend brings me and he's there with me? CLINIC: That's fine. We're not going to -- we're not the police, hon. CALLER: Okay. CLINIC: Okay? CALLER: All right. Well, if I wasn't like pregnant after I take the pregnancy test, could I get birth control? CLINIC: Yeah, if you're not pregnant. CALLER: Okay. Well, you wouldn't have to tell anybody about birth control either? CLINIC: Honey, everything here is confidential. CALLER: All right. CLINIC: So we're not going to tell anybody. If you come in with your older boyfriend, we're not going to, you know, say you can't be with him. This is very confidential. You don't have to worry when you come in. CALLER: Okay. CLINIC: Okay? CALLER: Well, the only thing I could think of is that I don't drive to pick up the birth control pills. Would my boyfriend be able to pick them up? CLINIC: You need to come in for a consultation, hon. You need to see the nurse. CALLER: Oh. All right. Okay. CLINIC: All set? CALLER: Well, I need to call my boyfriend to see if he had any questions, but could I call and talk to you? What was your name? CLINIC: You can speak with anybody that answers the phone. It will most likely be me until 5:00. CALLER: Okay. CLINIC: Okay? CALLER: Well, what was your name then? CLINIC: My name's Sylvia. CALLER: Oh, okay. Okay, thanks. CLINIC: Okay, bye bye. CALLER: Bye.
