CLINIC: No, we don't. It would be at our Mission Valley clinic or Encinitas clinic. Do you need a phone number?

CALLER: Yeah.

CALLER: Okay. Well, like do you guys do the pregnancy tests there? Like my friend told me to go to you guys.

CLINIC: We can provide you with a pregnancy test, and then we can give you referrals and go over the procedure when you come here if you're interested in that.

CALLER: Okay. Is there like a age requirement for that or anything?

CLINIC: I'm sorry?

CALLER: Is there any age requirement for that? I'll be 14 in March.

CLINIC: No age requirement. No, no, no. No age requirement.

CALLER: All right. Well, like my friend actually told me that you guys have to tell my parents before I can have an abortion. Is that true?

CLINIC: No, you don't. We don't. Everything is confidential. All the services are confidential. What we do need to have is an emergency contact, and it has to be your guardian.

CALLER: Is there any way not to tell them? Because like they can't find out at all.

CLINIC: What I mean is, an emergency contact is if something were to happen to you while you're having the surgery done we need to contact your guardian.

CALLER: Well, is it okay to call my boyfriend because he's 22?

CLINIC: No, I'm sorry.

CALLER: All right. Well, is there any way not to have to tell my parents?

CLINIC: We don't TELL your parents. You know? We don't ask for their permission. We don't tell them. Hold on one second, please.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: We don't tell them anything. Everything is confidential.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay? But we do need to have an emergency contact, and if you're under 18 it has to be your guardian.

CALLER: Oh, all right. Well, would you call them or anything?

CLINIC: We would not call them to get any type of consent from them. Okay? But we do need to have that emergency contact.

CALLER: Oh, all right.

CLINIC: Everything is confidential. All the services are confidential.

CALLER: Okay. Like my boyfriend was wondering if we could get birth control there.

CLINIC: Sure you can.

CALLER: You wouldn't have to tell?

CLINIC: Sure you can. Are you an established patient here?

CALLER: No.

CLINIC: Okay.

CALLER: But you wouldn't have to tell anybody about if I was on birth control?

CLINIC: No. Right. We don't call your parents on birth control. We don't call them on pregnancy testing. We don't call them if you're getting an abortion. We don't call any of the services that we provide, okay?

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: Everything is confidential, but we do need to have them as emergency contact person.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay? If something were to happen to you in a clinic, you pass out, you hit your head, we got to take you to the hospital, then we need to contact them.

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: In case of emergency.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: Okay. Give us a call when you want tao get set up for the pill. Give us call on that day that you want to come in that you're ready to come in.
